Crown Council

Congratulations to Samantha! Samantha earned her seat to attend this year’s Crown Council event in January! In their own words, “the Crown Council is a prestigious alliance of leading-edge dentists around the world who are strongly committed to promoting oral health, fighting oral cancer, and serving their communities through charitable work.”

Every year they hold an event for their members to help them be better people and healthcare providers! We are excited to be able to attend!

What Being A Good Human Being Is:

I shared this with my secret pal at work. I had given her a cup that says be a good human. Do not get me wrong, she is a wonderful human being but we need those reminders all the time, especially when we work with the public. Let me be more specific, especially when we work in the dentistry field. I challenged her to share. We do need to be better human being. Then I decided to share the same with my front team and now I am sharing this with you.

Being a good person means more than just doing things for others… In order to truly be good, you will have to consider what ‘goodness’ means to you. Perhaps this means doing good for others, or simply being an honest and kind person.

Being a good person means more than just doing things for others. You have to accept and love yourself before you can put positive energy into the universe. Philosophers have been debating what is good and what is not for centuries, and many people find that’s more complicated than just being kind. While every person’s journey is different, being good has a lot to do with discovering yourself and your role in the world. In order to truly be good, you would have to consider what goodness means to you.

Use some of the following tips to help yourself be a better person.

Improve Yourself: Determine what being a good person means to you personally.

1. Choose a role model

2. Stop comparing yourself to others

3. Love yourself

4. Be yourself

5 Pray and/or meditate

6. Make small changes

7. Review your goals every day

Have a Positive Attitude: Try to look at the bright side of things.

1. Do an act of charity for someone else

2. Make a point to make the world a better place every time you leave the place of your dwelling

3. Slow down

4. Practice Forgiveness

5. Be honest

Make these small gestures a daily habit. Doing simple things, such as smiling at someone or holding the door open for a stranger, will help you become a better person. Soon enough, these small acts of kindness will become a habit that you don’t even have to think about it.

1. Be empathetic

2. Accept everyone around you

3. Control your anger

4. Compliment people

5. Be a better listener

6. Celebrate other people’s victories and good qualities

7. Be a role model

8. Share

Respect everyone

Secret Pals

It is nice to come to work and find these type of things in your work area. We should always be thankful for what other people do for us and we should always concentrate on our blessings because “We are Blessed “.

What do you normally share with your coworkers? Do you show gratitude? Are you thankful for what others do for you? Do people show appreciation for what you do? Are you going to start if no one does? Make someone’s day and see the effect that makes in your office or/and at home.

God Bless,

Preparing Yourself for Success

There’s nothing worse than that creeping, anxious feeling that wells up in you on a Sunday night. You know you’ve got a long week ahead, and you feel like you’ll never find the strength to get everything done.

So how do you make that feeling go away? If you prepare for your week on Sunday, you’ll find that anxiousness never really hits. Throughout the week, you’ll find things run smoother because you did the prep work ahead of time. Even when things go off track, which happens to us all, you’ll find that you stay in control. When Sunday night arrives, don’t dread Monday morning. Instead, prepare for it and the week ahead, and you’ll find your Monday mornings aren’t so bad.

Plan out your outfits

How often do you look at your closet and have a difficult time picking out something to wear? Pants or skirt? Jeans or khakis? Sweater or button-up? What’s the weather supposed to be like this week anyway?

Before you start planning outfits, take a look at the weather forecast for the week. Is it supposed to rain? Will it be uncomfortably hot? Now weather forecasts change, but looking ahead will help you plan a little more wisely.

The trick to planning out clothes for the week is not to assign outfits for specific days. Instead, just choose five looks that will fit the weather for the week and pick one each day. This helps in two ways:

  1. You spend less time looking at your whole closet. Instead, you’re just looking at a few to choose from, which will be easier and faster.
  2. You still have some flexibility with weather. If the rain is pushed back a day, save the rainy outfit for another day and go with something for clear skies.

When planning outfits, think back to your calendar and what you’ve got planned for the week. If you know you have an important meeting, make sure you select a nicer outfit and iron it. If you’re going to be doing a lot of walking one day, add in an outfit or two that goes well with comfortable shoes.

As you get into the habit of planning your outfit, you’ll be surprised at how much more time you have every morning. Instead of spending five minutes deciding on what to wear and getting dressed, you’ll be dressed in 30 seconds and ready to go pack a lunch.

Meal prep for the week

For dinners, plan which nights you’ll cook a meal and which ones will be easy meals, such as grilled cheese or even a frozen pizza. If you can, start working on those meals right away: take out any frozen meat to thaw or cut up and measure vegetables. You can even cook rice or noodles ahead of time and then pack them in plastic containers to be reheated later. They won’t be seasoned, so they can be used with whatever you need.

You can pack your own lunches at this time as well. Put salads together or make a few sandwiches in advance. When all you have to do is grab a sandwich and go, you’ll find that your morning run a little easier.

You can also pre-pack lunches for your kids. A few ham and cheese sandwiches will sit in the fridge for a few days.

What’s more, try to pack snacks ahead of time. This more than anything else will save you time in the mornings. While it may be easier just to buy bags of chips, packing your own gives you the flexibility to make healthier snacking choices, and if you’re reusing plastic containers, you’ll cut down on the amount of waste you throw away.

Try a few of these snacks:

  • Chopped veggies with ranch dressing
  • Strawberries, blueberries or grapes
  • Nuts
  • Pretzels

Pack as many of these snacks as you like and grab them throughout the week.

Set yourself up for success,

The Four Agreements

Have you read this book yet? Is full of wonderful information. I got it yesterday and I read half of the book already.

The Four Agreements:

1. Be impeccable with your word

2. Don’t take anything personally

3. Don’t make assumptions

4. Always do your best

In this book Don Miguel Ruiz reveals the source of self-limiting beliefs that rob us of joy and create needless suffering. The Four Agreements offer a powerful code of conduct that can rapidly transform our lives to a new experience of freedom, true happiness and love.
