Be Grateful

Sometimes this starts with the fact that we are alive and breathing.

Everyday you are alive and breathing, there’s hope and a chance to make things better. So to start with, be grateful for today, and the opportunity to get up every day. You may not be in a perfect environment, but if you can get up every day and breathe, be grateful for what you have. Number one, life.

Your family, school, or financial situation may not be optimal. But you have opportunity. Some of the people who came from the deepest holes are the ones who gain the most traction and success in living well versus those who had an easier pathway initially. They were forced to be resourceful.

The less you are given, the more you have to be resourceful. That is a gift. Learn to look at your situation and say, “It’s good I went through that because I had to learn how to create.”

Be grateful for the chance to learn and to strive.

Be especially grateful for those people in your life that help you become the best you can be. Be sure to Express your gratitude to them, whether that is parents, teachers, mentors-whoever has invested in you.

Often genuine appreciation is one of the most meaningful gifts you can give.

Be Resilient

“I will breathe. I will think of solutions. I will not let my worry control me. I will not let my stress level break me. I will simply breathe and it will be okay because I won’t quit.” – Shayne McClendon

How To Best Handle Hard Times & Anxiety

This information was shared with me from our awesome crowncouncil team and I feel is necessary for me to share it with you especially if you work with the public and have a team to take care of.

“We are obviously in unprecedented times where everyone is working to gather information and make informed decisions as best as they can. There is a human and emotional side to all of this that merits some attention as we sort through fact and fiction and changing circumstances,.  Below are some reminders for personal consideration as well as consideration with your teams as we move ahead.

Pulling together in spirit of harmony for a common objective will always produce the best result. We hope you can do that at home, in the office and here as a Crown Council family.   We hope the following will be helpful to all of us as we move forward: Maintaining a Culture of Success in an Era of Anxiety (Or how to keep your head when everyone is losing theirs!) As you sort through the many changing circumstances around us, here are some suggestions for Crown Council teams and teams everywhere to stay grounded and be a source of courage and leadership at home, in your practices, and in your community:

Take care of the “Goose.”  You remember the Aesop’s Fable of the Goose and Golden Egg. Without the goose, there are no golden eggs.  So take care of the goose!

  • Eat a healthy balanced diet
  • Get plenty sleep
  • Take care of your health and immune system.
  • Get some exercise daily.

Take care of your mental health:Talk!  Give your team and family space to talk as a group about what they are experiencing and feeling. The gift of speech does wonders for mental health. If your team is mentally healthy, they will be better able to listen compassionately to patients. Your patients need an outlet as well. Fill your team’s bucket so they can fill others.  Don’t believe everything you hear AND stay informed from the most credible sources you can find. Balance the news with some positive reading and positive media. Keep feeding your brain good stuff!

Watch for the 5 stages of grief and change: Be aware of these five stages of emotions that are common in all of us during a time of change and uncertainty.

  • Denial
  • Anger
  • Bargaining
  • Depression
  • Acceptance

All of these emotions are going to be visible and they are natural. Don’t be alarmed when they show up in the behavior of your patients, those around you, and yourself. Give space for the emotions of others without being a victim of disrespectful or abusive behavior.  Many times anxiety manifests as anger. In a time when many are anxious, they may come off as angry. If that happens, ask yourself, “What might this person be anxious about?  What can I do to help alleviate their anxiety?”  Be compassionate and remember that when you deny an emotion, it will fight for survival. Give the emotion some space to express itself and it will subside. Most of the time it is not about you. It is about the anxiety the other person is feeling.

Find the seed:  Within every adversity is the seed of its equal or greater opportunity. Look for the opportunity to do good and benefit the lives of others in every situation.

Be Grateful:  Make a list of things for which you are grateful.  Even when things around you may seem uncertain and changing, there are always things for which to be grateful.  Gratitude is proven to be good for your mental as well as your physical health.

Be kind!  Everyone is coping with the same or similar issues. We are all in this together so be compassionate. Some deal with anxiety better than others.

Laugh! There is always room for humor in almost every situation. A little comic relief when appropriate will help a lot.  Remember: This too shall pass. Things will continue to change rapidly for a time and it may be a wild ride so…hang on!

And finally…Stay close to the ones you love!   A Culture of Success is a philosophy of life, not just in the calm waters, but in the choppy waters as well. Learn it, live it, and love it!

Steven J. Anderson and the Crown Council and Total Patient Service Institute teams.

I hope this help you.

Early Education Is Important to me

I am in a dental meeting in Clearwater Florida and I have been a great fan of MGE since I started my dental career in 2003.  I have learned a lot on this dental journey not only on the executive level but also personally. I do like the way MGE teach others how to learn.

A number of years ago I became a classroom Trainer and while I was going through the process it was an eye opener for many things. I one point I said to myself, wow! I wished I was exposed to some of these information many years ago, especially when you are learning another language.

I am so excited to be able to introduce to Keyani at an early age this book Learning How To Learn. I am more than thankful to be able to provide this type of education to her. Every time I go somewhere I always make sure I bring something meaningful to her. Education is very important to me and I have to make sure she gets one.
I hope you do the same with your kids. They need good education and they need to have parents that really care and make the time for it. This reminds me of my grandmother.  Boy! she made sure we were educated and she sure did a great job at it. I sure miss her. Here to passing on the baton!

International Women’s Day. “You can always tell who the strong women are. They are the ones you see building one another up instead of tearing each other down.” –Unknown

International Women’s Day (March 8) is a global day celebrating the social, economic, cultural and political achievements of women.

Wishing you a day filled with goodness and warmth, wishing you happiness today and forever. No matter for which angle I look at you, you appear to be an angel and Women’s Day is the perfect to say: I am so lucky to have you in my life.

Dental Assistant Recognition Week Celebration

Today we had the ladies from Cedar Stone Spa in our office giving massages to our wonderful dental assistants while they were enjoying a delicious lunch.

They are so lucky, they get to celebrate all week long. Lunch was provided from some of our wonderful teammates and we had to have cake from Costco 🙂

They sure do love what they do and it shows. I have to say we are very lucky to have them. I don’t know what we would do without them.

If I start describing you each one of these ladies I may run out of space but to sum it all up I have to say these ladies are very hard workers and each one of them have a beautiful heart and a very unique talent.

Enjoy your week ladies and know you are appreciated.

Happy dental assistant recognition week !!

Dental Assistant Recognition Week

March 3-9 is dental assistant recognition week.

I am super excited to be able to celebrate with our dental assistants all week long.

We are starting the week by sharing appreciation cards. I have involved my admin team in helping me make hand made appreciation cards so we can pass them around for our teammates and patients to share appreciation with them.

Dental Assistants are very important in our office. They have a very important role and they do a lot more than what they have to do to get their job completed. We would be so lost without them. If you know a dental assistant in your family, a friend or even a dental assistant at your dentist office this coming week do not forget to say “thank you” make sure to let them know how much you appreciate them.

We have few things planned for our dental assistants and I will share that later since everything is a surprise.

I am making a toast tomorrow morning in our morning opportunity meeting to get this week started right.

I couldn’t have done this without my daughter’s help. She had a blast!

I would like to share with you some two good statistics about dental assistants that you should know about.

1. Dental assistants are responsible for many areas within the dental practice and often wear a lot of hats. With broad roles like these, it may seem impossible to find a dental assistant who can do it all. However, dentists and dental office managers said that the five most important qualities for dental assistants to have are good patient care skills, being a team player, being willing to learn, taking ownership of work and showing initiative. They also said that effective dental assistants anticipate the needs of the dentist without the exchange of words and perform duties properly the first time, avoiding the need to redo work.

2. Dentists and dental office managers agreed that dental assistants can bring tremendous value to the dental practice – but they need training and education to be most effective. Fully utilizing dental assistants is one of the ways practices can maximize performance. According to dentists and dental office managers, 84% said dental assistants should do everything the state allows them to do, and 85% said their practice cross-trains dental assistants to do whatever is needed.

Beyond training, education plays a key role. A majority of dentists, dental hygienists and dental office managers believe that continuing education (CE) helps the practice thrive. Overall, 89% said that CE is critical to maintaining the dental assistants’ skills and 90% said that dental assistants who complete CE are more likely to contribute to the profitability of the practice.

Happy Dental Assistant Recognition Week. I hope you keep doing what you do because I know you do it because you care for people. I hope you keep encouraging others that may like to be a great dental assistant just like you. Dentistry is a great field to be in. May you keep changing people’s lives one smile at a time.

God bless,

Jani

Quality Time

Every evening I take time to spend quality time with Keyani.  There is nothing better than disconnecting from the world so you can spend time, have fun, listen to her new words, songs and whatever she wants to introduce to me next.

She loves getting behind me and brush my hair now. She would use a hairbrush,  a make up brush, a pen, her hands, whatever she wants but as long as she can brush or play with my hair she doesn’t care.

The beauty of that is that I get to relax while she does it but this evening she is getting a little wild as you can see. #funtimes!

Customers Reviews

Do you review retail stores or online purchases? I do. Every time I have the opportunity I sure try my best. If I like the item I ordered and the quality of the product and the customer service was good I make sure I review them. The number one reason is because I want other customers to see how satisfied I am with the purchase so I can help them make a good decision as well.

I like to also help the retail store, their business. If I am happy I want them to be happy and grateful for their customers. Is a good feeling to know other people recognize your hard work.

We all live in a world where people like to be negative and don’t like to celebrate the success of others. Also there are people that when they have a bad experience are very quick in writing a bad review and they tend to have bad intentions. I know everyone can not be always satisfied with what they buy in life but if a good retail store, an office, a spa has a lot going for them I would like them to have more positive reviews than negative ones.

Another reason why reviews are important is the fact that they help boost customer loyalty towards a brand.

So try today and help someone. If you have a good experience let them know. Help the business and also help the customer.

God Bless,

Jani

My Valentine

Valentine’s day is the celebration of love and affection.

If you have only one smile in you give it to the people you love.

On valentine’s day you are supposed to express your love, celebrate, and show more appreciation for a person or friend. This day is associated with red and pink colors, candy, flowers and cards.

People consider pink and red the colors of love.
Americans spend a lot on love.
More Americans skip Valentine’s Day than you realize.

I celebrate Valentine’s day with my precious baby girl. She has allow me to learn the meaning of unconditional love.

Galentine’s Day has become a very real spinoff holiday.

Americans send 145 million Valentine’s Day cards each year.

he heart has its reasons of which reason knows nothing

I remember having valentine’s day in the past where I celebrated alone, sometimes I celebrated with friends and loved ones.  Other years I celebrated with my boyfriend/significant other, every year petty much was celebrated differently but not anymore.

The Valentine’s Day gift that people spend the most on is jewelry.

Now I have a precious girl to celebrate with. I want her to celebrate.  I want her to be able to celebrate with me, with her dad,  with her loved ones, friends and pretty much whomever she wants to spend it with when she is an adult. The only thing I hope that she doesn’t get in the mood of “I don’t have a boyfriend to celebrate this day with, therefore I am sad”. I want her to celebrate life, to celebrate with or without a man because clearly you dont have to wait to have a man to celebrate this precious day.
It’s celebrated differently around the world.

58 million pounds of chocolate are bought during Valentine’s Day week.

Each time you love, love as deeply as if it were forever.”

Enjoy this day.
Happy valentine’s day
Feliz Dia de San Valentín
