The tranquility will not come looking for you. You will have to fight to achieve it in an increasingly bustling and demanding world, in a culture that rushes to fill every second with sound, movement and rapid information. You’ll have to plan for it, set boundaries around yourself, and protect it from phone calls, television shows, and even your own impatience. You will be tempted to think that you will not be able to live without it, but it will join you with the rest of us who have to learn the hard way, through four-day cold circles under the eyes and fatigue on the weekends, which if we do not take care of taking things calmly, our bodies will do them for us. The simple truth is that the quiet moments spent with the Lord, the universe or whatever it is that you truly believe in, with His word and our hearts open before Him, will not demand much of us but will give us many things. They will always respond to us, the life of our days will always increase and most likely the days of our life will increase. Enjoy the blessings that peace of mind brings you.
I hug you strongly today.
