Today is a very special day. Today my daughter turns two years old. Wow! Time flies. Right? I am enjoying this wonderful weekend with her. I rather be back home with the rest of the family (Puerto Rico) but since it is not the right time I have to celebrate the best way I could possibly can.
My cousin got my daughter this wonderful book. I know she bought it more for me than my daughter and I will tell you why.
The book You Are My Happy by Hoda Kotb is a book inspired by Hoda’s own night time routine with her daughter Hayley Joy, Today show co-anchor Hoda has written a book that celebrates the things that makes us happy, the big things and small.
Hoda in 2007 battling with breast cancer left her stronger, but unable to have kids. “Every time I swallow those pills, the pills are doing two things to me,” she said at the time of her course of treatment. “They’re fighting my cancer and they’re taking away any opportunity to ever have a kid.”
That knowledge was quite literally tough to swallow. “It’s hard to choke them down,” she said. “But I take them every day, every night…It’s all weird because part of me feels sad and part of me feels like I got this new beginning.”
You should read more about Hoda, her journey and what a beautiful person she is in and out. I have a lot of respect for her. I love getting to know about her, her beautiful babies and family.
I’m excited about adding her book to Keyani’s collection. I’m very thankful for my cousin and the way she thought of me that way and for always paying attention to the things I do, I like and I treasure. She is a wonderful sister to me and a blessing in Keyani’s life.
Dear daughter, Feliz Cumpleaños one more time. Happy birthday beautiful girl. Thank you for being such a good baby. Thank you for allowing me to be your mom. Your smile makes my day every single day. Your tears are definitely my tears. I have learned so much on this wonderful motherhood journey. Keyani is such a sweetheart. She is so caring and loving. Always happy, very sassy, very independent and so smart. I can’t believe babies are still born this way. God sure blessed me more than I could ever ask for and because of her I make sure everything related to her is special. Being alive and being able to breathe and share memories is precious and we have to be thankful and celebrate.
Keyani may your day be as bright as your smile and as lovely as you. Happy birthday my precious girl!
God Bless,
Jani
