Sometimes this starts with the fact that we are alive and breathing.
Everyday you are alive and breathing, there’s hope and a chance to make things better. So to start with, be grateful for today, and the opportunity to get up every day. You may not be in a perfect environment, but if you can get up every day and breathe, be grateful for what you have. Number one, life.
Your family, school, or financial situation may not be optimal. But you have opportunity. Some of the people who came from the deepest holes are the ones who gain the most traction and success in living well versus those who had an easier pathway initially. They were forced to be resourceful.
The less you are given, the more you have to be resourceful. That is a gift. Learn to look at your situation and say, “It’s good I went through that because I had to learn how to create.”
Be grateful for the chance to learn and to strive.
Be especially grateful for those people in your life that help you become the best you can be. Be sure to Express your gratitude to them, whether that is parents, teachers, mentors-whoever has invested in you.
Often genuine appreciation is one of the most meaningful gifts you can give.
